Emergency Airlift makes history in North Bend and Roseburg, Oregon.

Emergency Airlift, the local air ambulance company, announced today the launch of their two newly purchased Bolkow-BO105S helicopters. These helicopters will be dedicated solely to Emergency Medical Services work in Oregon, west of the Cascade Mountain Range. The helicopters will be the first EMS helicopters based at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport and the Roseburg Municipal Airport.  The helicopters are part of Emergency Airlift’s impressive fleet of six EMS fixed wing aircraft and two long range EMS jets, servicing five air ambulance bases in Oregon, California, Nevada and the Island of Guam.

Emergency Airlift has the ability to land directly at the hospital or scene of an accident, drastically reducing patient transit time between hospitals.  The helicopters are capable of transporting one patient with a critical care specialty team directly from hospital to hospital.

"It is exciting to add these helicopters to our growing fleet.  We now have a wide range of equipment which allows us to choose the best suited aircraft for the job," stated Edward Langerveld/CEO & Director of Operations.  “It is a crucial instrument in broadening the EMS resources greatly needed along the Oregon coast and Douglas County areas. The ability to utilize the helicopter for scene work and with our more critical patients makes all the difference because our response time to the scene or bedside is a matter of minutes ensuring the highest level of care is available without delay," stated Ed.

On July 4, 2008 from 11:00am to 3:00pm Emergency Airlift will have the helicopters on display at their North Bend, Oregon headquarters where they will be conducting a drawing for several free demonstration flights available to our Emergency Airlift members. Non-members can sign up online or on location.

Your life, our mission, minutes count.
